The ONE Thing to Do When the Going Gets Tough…

It’s just another morning. Picture me sipping my extra hot double expresso latte, turning on my computer, opening my emails, and there it was… A short venting email from a close friend:

“I’m having a hard time keeping up with everything! Between working full-time on this job that’s sucking my energy (which by the way you know how much I hate it), trying to start my own business on the side, and personal responsibilities, I totally feel burned out! <<Sigh>> How much longer do I have to juggle all this “crap” around (edited to keep it clean-LOL!)? Way too much to handle /:”

Have you been feeling like my friend lately? Hey, you’re not the only one feeling this way. I’m going to share with you what I shared with her… SHORT and SWEET!

As driven people, we want to do it all! And, we are constantly juggling too many things at once. Many of us are so busy that we don’t even have time for ourselves. We forget to nurture ourselves, especially our souls. At the end of the day, you run out of energy and probably feel totally burned out.

Let’s think about this for a second… what would happen if you’re burned out? You’ll likely be moody, cranky, impatient, drained or craving for chocolate or whisky. Well, I’ll be the first one to say… you’re probably not a “hang out” material. For sure! But in all fairness…

How good would it be to have a burned out YOU around?

This is why, it’s so important that you take the time to nurture your soul. And one way to nurture your soul is to intentionally add joyful moments to your day EVERY DAY.

Whether it’s conversing with loved ones over dinner or enjoying a glass of your favorite wine while admiring today’s sunset, these joyful moments serve as a fuel to fill up our souls.

Think about this… When you feel joyful, doesn’t your guard goes down? Don’t you feel energized, optimistic and in a better mood?

Whether you’re a last-minute person or an obsessive planner, make it a habit to introduce a joyful moment to you life. A spontaneous experience will take your mind off your hectic busy day for a moment and can fill up your soul. Not once a week, or twice a month but EVERY DAY!

There’s so much your body, mind and soul can handle at once. You probably consider yourself superwoman or superman. Hey, I get it. I feel that way too. Just like any vehicle, our energy can last so much before it runs out. But, the epic news is that YOU don’t need to run out of dazzle. Not at all! These small joyful daily experiences are intended to add meaning to your life.

I encourage you to embrace your joyful moments. Starting today, commit to experiencing, at least, ONE joyful moment before you crash into bed. Never go to sleep without quenching yourself with joy. Yes, YOU deserve to experience joy every day.
